Black Mountain Tower, a telecommunication tower on the summit of Black Mountain in Canberra, the capital city of Australia, is a well-known landmark providing a wide and unobstructed view of both the countryside and the city.  It has observation decks, both indoor and out, as well as a revolving restaurant, an informal café and a gift shop, but its most important functions are platforms providing communications dishes and radio communication facilities It has become a landmark symbolizing Canberra throughout the world and a major visitor attraction for international tourists totaling over six million per year.

History

In many ways, traveling through Tasmania is like traveling back in time. A large, isolated island with a small population, Tasmanians like their island state just the way it is and see no reason to modernize it other than by modernizing its roads and infrastructure. A great way to see Tasmania as it was before and is today is to rent a car and take a drive down the Heritage Highway.

Tasmania’s first settlers were convicts sent over from England to get them out of the way and provide labor for the “colonies.” Hobart was the location chosen to house the convicts. From there, they were sent out to build roads and settlements throughout the island’s interior. The first and most famous of these roads has become known as the Heritage …

Family Club

In Brisbane Australia, there are nightclubs and bars to suit every taste, mood and attitude. One of the most sought-after however, has to be the family club. This club is best known for catering to high end events such as product launches, corporate events and concerts; they have events every Friday and Saturday night and thanks to their multi-storey facility. You are sure to find the particular genre of music and atmosphere that you are in the mood for one any given night, the only downside to the popularity is that it might be rather crowded and difficult to get in. But if you are lucky enough to do so, you are sure to have an unforgettable experience. Australia is getting shorter and shorter flight times and with

Weekdays are for routines. Weekends are for spontaneity. Sometimes it can be hard to think of different activities to make the most of your two days off and it can be all too tempting to lie on the couch – which you will ultimately regret on Monday when you are back in that office chair. Check out some of the mini-break ideas below – a weekend in Western Australia need never be wasted again!

Day trip
Despite its isolated position on the western coast, Perth is within driving distance of a fair few Aussie hotspots. Just a few kilometres east of Perth is John Forrest Park, with easy walking tracks and beautiful scenery. It is one of Australia’s first conservation areas and also offers bike paths and rock pools for swimming. …

In Perth, Australia there are travel companies that own several 4-wheel-drive trucks capable of taking twenty tourists around the country. I booked my tour from England. After fifteen days of traveling around with my friends Samuel and Rob through the eastern part of Australia and Tasmania, I got on a flight from Melbourne to Perth, slept a night in a hostel, then left for a 20-days tour that took us to Darwin in the northern territories.

The first night was spent in a hostel and got me the chance to know some other members of the group: an American, 6 Japanese, 2 Swiss, one German, myself and others. The guide was Mel, an Australian who also spoke a few words of Japanese.

From the second night onwards we sleep in tents and …

The Land Down Under is one of the world’s oldest continents and has unique attractions that can be seen nowhere else on earth. If you’re traveling all the way to Australia, it would be a shame to just stick with the sights and experiences that have some connection with European culture. Here are 5 only-in-Australia things to see and do while you’re here:

Have an Aboriginal Health Treatment

Traditional medicine is having a comeback, thanks in part to recent scientific studies that have shown why they work and the experiences of those who try them. It seems like the older the culture, the better traditional medicines and treatments seem to work. At Guljula, in Arnhem Land, the non-profit Yothu Yindi Foundation has financed and set up The Healing Place (Dilthan Yolngunha). The …

Cooktown is a small frontier town located in Tropical North Queensland. It is known for being the town where Captain James Cook beached his ship in 1770. It also has a rich Aboriginal history that crossed paths with Cook in the same fateful year. Cooktown is a very popular tourist destination, hosting many historical attractions as well as beautiful views.

Although it is quite small, there is a lot to do in Cooktown. The town is rugged and unspoilt by the metropolitan world, showing the beauty and harsh desert flora and fauna Australia is so well known for. Down at Fisherman’s wharf you can catch Barramundi and Spanish Mackerel in what was once one of the busiest ports in Queensland during the Gold Rush. You can also climb up the …

With almost three million square miles of land, Australia abounds in spectacular places to go, so why not visit some of the more unusual destinations this island nation has to offer? Most visitors to Australia remain content seeing the famed Ayers Rock, Sydney’s Opera House and perhaps relaxing at Australia’s marvelous beaches. Australia offers so much more, however, it’d be a shame to stick to the obvious. Travelers lucky enough to have an extended holiday might find Australian villas a good choice while visiting.

Blue Mountains
Not far outside of Sydney rise the rugged Blue Mountains, a World Heritage Site. Beautiful lookout points appear often, giving visitors to this area views of awesome scenery. Adventurous travelers should try mountain biking, hiking or rock climbing or simply walking in these …

There are two ways to get from Adelaide or any other major Australian city to Uluru. You can do what most people do and fly to Alice Springs and then travel by bus to Uluru or you can have an unbelievable time and drive there. Not too long ago, this second option would have been almost suicidal for novices, but with vastly improved roads and reliable vehicles available for rent, if you know how to drive, you can do it and enjoy every minute of your trip.

Although easily “doable,” you won’t be driving through areas peppered with luxurious resorts, so the best way to drive from Adelaide to Uluru is to get a tour operator to arrange your itinerary and accommodations for you. You will, after all, be crossing the …

If you’re looking for adventure, look no further than Byron Bay. Since this former dairy town was re-discovered by surfers in the 1970s, Byron Bay has become almost synonymous with all kinds of adventure activities. Whether it’s on land, in the sea or in the air, it’s all there for you in beautiful Byron Bay.

Sea Adventures in Byron Bay

Surfers are an adventurous bunch by nature and when surfing became Australia’s national passion in the sixties and seventies, they set out from all coastal corners of the country in search of the perfect wave. One of the places they found it was in and around Byron Bay. From perfect beach breaks like those right in the center of town to nearby reefs and points within a few minutes’ drive of town, …
